रक्षाबंधन प्रायः श्रावण पूर्णिमा पर है। बहन भाई को राखी बाँधती है; भाई रक्षा का वचन देता है। चचेरे–मित्रों और प्रतीकात्मक राखी तक इसका विस्तार हुआ है — यह पारस्परिक जिम्मेदारी का दिन है।
