॥ श्री पार्वत्यै शिवाय नमः ॥
हरतालिका तीज कथा — तिर्थयात्रा मौलिक पुनर्प्रस्तुति।
वर्षा ऋतु में धरती हरित होती है — पार्वती जी की लगन का रूपक। हरतालिका तीज पर सुहागिनें और कन्याएँ शिव–पार्वती की कथा गाती हैं।
कथा: पार्वती जी शिव जी को पति रूप में पाना चाहती थीं। जब तप में बाधा आई, वे सखी संग वन चली गईं — ‘हरत’ होकर भी साधना नहीं छोड़ी।
शिव जी ने योगी रूप में परीक्षा ली — वैभव का लोभ, भय, और विरक्ति के तर्क। पार्वती जी अटल रहीं। तब प्रसन्न होकर शिव ने उन्हें अर्धांगिनी स्वीकारा।
तीज सिखाती है: प्रेम जबरदस्ती नहीं, तप और स्पष्ट संकल्प है। हरा वस्त्र, मेहँदी, झूला — बाहरी उत्सव; भीतरी बात अखंड श्रद्धा है।
व्रत: यथाशक्ति निर्जला या फलाहार। रात्रि जागरण में कथा–गीत। प्रातः पूजा कर पारण। स्वास्थ्य की रक्षा भी पार्वती इच्छा है।
