॥ श्री विष्णवे नमः ॥
ओणम–महाबली कथा — तिर्थयात्रा मौलिक पुनर्प्रस्तुति (केरल)।

केरल में ओणम उस समय की स्मृति है जब राजा महाबली की प्रजा सुखी थी — अहंकार नहीं, न्याय की समृद्धि।

वामन अवतार की कथा कहती है: तीन पग भूमि माँगकर विष्णु ने दंभ को मापा। महाबली ने सिर झुकाया — भक्ति ने राज्य से बड़ा मान लिया।

प्रति वर्ष थिरुवोणम पर माना जाता है महाबली प्रजा से मिलने आते हैं। इसलिए घर साफ, पुक्कलम (फूलों की रंगोली), और सबके लिए सद्य।

विधि का हृदय: अतिथि और पड़ोसी संग भोजन। जो अकेला मनाए, वह भी दीप–पुष्प से आभार रख सकता है।
