हनुमान जयंती · मंगलवार व्रत कथा।
अंजनी और पवनदेव की कृपा से हनुमान जी का प्राकट्य हुआ। बाल्यावस्था में उन्होंने सूर्य को फल समझकर निगलने का प्रयास किया — तभी उनकी दिव्य शक्ति प्रकट हुई।
राम भक्ति में लीन हनुमान ने लंका में सीता का पता लगाया, संजीवनी लाई, और राम-रावण युद्ध में अतुलित पराक्रम दिखाया। वे रामदूत और संकटमोचन हैं।
हनुमान जयंती विभिन्न प्रदेशों में भिन्न तिथियों पर मानी जाती है — चैत्र पूर्णिमा उत्तर भारत में प्रसिद्ध है। मंगलवार भी हनुमान को विशेष प्रिय है।
मंगलवार व्रत में भक्त तेल-सिंदूर चढ़ाते हैं, हनुमान चालीसा का पाठ करते हैं और संकट-मोचन की प्रार्थना करते हैं।
