॥ श्री गणेशाय नमः ॥
गणेश चतुर्थी व्रत कथा — विघ्नहर्ता गणपति की महिमा।
शिव-पुराण और गणेश पुराण कथा कहते हैं कि माता पार्वती ने अपने अंग-मल से एक बालक रचा और द्वार की रक्षा का आदेश दिया।
जब शिव कैलाश लौटे और प्रवेश रोका गया, क्रोध में उन्होंने बालक का शीश काट दिया। पार्वती के शोक पर शिव ने हाथी का शीश जोड़कर बालक को पुनर्जीवित किया — वे गणेश हुए।
ब्रह्मादि देवों ने गणेश को विघ्नराज और प्रथम पूज्य घोषित किया। तभी से हर शुभ कार्य गणेश-वंदना से आरंभ होता है।
भाद्रपद शुक्ल चतुर्थी को गणेश चतुर्थी मनाई जाती है। भक्त मिट्टी/धातु की मूर्ति स्थापित कर पूजा करते हैं और अनंत चतुर्दशी तक उत्सव चलाते हैं।
व्रत विधि: संकल्प, षोडशोपचार पूजा, दूर्वा, मोदक, लाल पुष्प। ‘ॐ गण गणपतये नमः’ का जाप। दिन भर सात्त्विक व्रत।
आरती 「सुखकर्ता दुखहर्ता」 गाएँ। कथा सुनें। संध्या में आरती और प्रसाद वितरण। विसर्जन में गणपति को विदाई देकर पर्यावरण का ध्यान रखें।
एक कथा में चन्द्रमा की हँसी पर गणेश ने शाप दिया — अतः चतुर्थी को चन्द्र दर्शन से बचने की लोक-परंपरा भी प्रचलित है।
फलश्रुति: गणेश चतुर्थी व्रत से विघ्न टूटते हैं, बुद्धि-विवेक बढ़ता है, और नए कार्यों में सफलता मिलती है।
